An award-winning writer/director/actor, Robyn Paris has written and developed features, television, web series and Virtual Reality programming for numerous production companies. Robyn created, directed and produced eight episodes of the original mockumentary series THE ROOM ACTORS: WHERE ARE THEY NOW? (TRAWATN), which premiered in partnership with Funny or Die (FOD) and then launched on Amazon Prime. The series was “Top of the Feed” on FOD with Robyn heading up the “Creator Leaderboard” for six weeks straight, with an overall “Funny” rating of 82%. TRAWATN premiered at Raindance and went on to screen at dozens of prestigious film festivals worldwide, including HBO's ITVFest, the Chicago Comedy Film Festival where Robyn won the “Best Director” award and HollyWeb where the series won “Best Ensemble Cast.” The show was nominated for “Best Comedy” at the Vancouver Web Fest,” “Best Original Idea” at the Rio Web Fest, “Best Mockumentary Series” at the Miami Web Fest and screened at the Oscar-qualifying HollyShorts film festival. The show was nominated for three Independent Series Awards in 2018 and won "Best Web Series" at the 2020 and 2018 LA Independent Film Festival.
Robyn is currently in pre-production on her first feature film, HART YOU, a BLACKLIST darling comedy, written by prolific up-and-coming screenwriter, Zoë McCarthy. Robyn wrote/directed/starred in a narrative short, FRUITLESS, which was scheduled to premiere at the Maryland Film Festival in 2020. FRUITLESS was an official selection of the Breckenridge FF, the Lighthouse FF, the Jane Austen FF, Burbank FF, Mystic FF and others.
As a writer, Robyn won the Samuel Goldwyn Screenwriting Award, the Harmony Gold Award, the Jack Nicholson Prize, the National Association of Theatre Owners of CA/NV Fellowship in Screening, Oliver's Prize in Screenwriting for Children and was a Humanitas Prize nominee. She holds an MFA in Screenwriting from UCLA and a BA from Duke University.

Robyn has an extensive background in crowdfunding, having raised $50k for her series TRAWATN on Kickstarter, where her series was featured as a "Staff Pick," "Projects We Love," and "New and Noteworthy." The feature film on which her series is based, THE ROOM, inspired a global cult following, and a major motion picture starring James Franco, THE DISASTER ARTIST. Robyn’s series stars eight (out of ten) of the original actors from THE ROOM, including Robyn herself, who plays the character of “Michelle” in THE ROOM. Robyn was portrayed by June Diane Raphael in THE DISASTER ARTIST.
Raised in Greensboro, NC, Robyn started her career in entertainment as an actor and comedic improviser. She has appeared in and written numerous theatrical productions and performed improv on house teams and corporate shows with The Second City Chicago, Improv Olympic Chicago, IO West and The Groundlings.
